Mizner Tower Condo Association engaged Chic (Awnings and Shutters) for the assembly of 71 apartment shutters and a number of shutters in our common areas. Some of the apartments required complicated, multiple opening shutters with curved tracks. Our building is 8(eight) stories high and many of our units can only be reached by using staging [a swing stage].
Chic used an unusual but very effective approach at Mizner; they set up their assembly operations in our garage. The result was that the inevitable occasional error could be quickly spotted, fitting for unexpected variations was easily gained, and handling damage of the tons of material required was very much reduced. We (the Mizner Tower Condo Association) would recommend this type of on-site assembly where space and quantity makes it appropriate.
The shutters themselves were custom painted (in Boca pink) and conformed to the Miami Dade NOA which showed them to be approximately 40% stronger for negative pressures than other shutters. We believe the aluminum distributor achieved this improvement in strength by using narrower blades, a stiffer three-piece blade hinge and a blade pattern with small strengthening ridges. The blades were also 10 to 15% stronger for positive pressures. The material arrived in good condition and our subsequent measurements of thickness showed it conformed to or exceeded the drawings incorporated in the NOA.

The awning your company installed over our deck allows us to spend more
